Planning the music
How large should the band be?
Two to four musicians can create a rich, intimate atmosphere; five to eight provide greater impact for a large reception, featured set, or dance floor. Ryan will recommend a size after learning about the event.
Can the band play quietly during cocktails or dinner?
Yes. Ensemble, instrumentation, amplification, and repertoire can all be shaped around conversation and service.
Can the musicians dress formally or more casually?
Yes. Presentation can be coordinated with the event - polished and formal, relaxed and characterful, or somewhere between the two.
Do you travel outside San Francisco?
Yes. Silver Bell Jazz Band serves the greater Bay Area and accepts selected regional engagements throughout Northern California.
